Amanda Misiak

Amanda Misiak has been a data-driven HR leader for a decade, with an emphasis on building and streamlining people operations, leveraging HR technology, and improving the employee experience. Amanda's roles have required high emotional intelligence and care with regard to compliance, confidentiality, formal investigations and litigation, and both state and federal regulatory oversight. Part of her success can be attributed to building strong cross-functional partnerships to meet the needs of the business and its human capital.

At the University of Colorado, Boulder, Amanda led faculty HR processes for the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience and then for the College of Arts and Sciences (70% of the campus and more than 1,000 faculty) where she hired more than 100 new faculty per year. At CU, Amanda grew her skills with recruitment, onboarding, budget oversight and paid leave, while learning to be a leader and strategic partner including participating in the RFP through implementation for a new applicant-tracking system for the entire CU system.

In 2019, Amanda transitioned to the startup industry, working for Foria Wellness, a small bi-coastal E-commerce and CPG company with an office in Boulder, Colorado, that manufactures health and wellness products using cannabinoids. From there she took on a larger role with a vertically-integrated cannabis company with a retail store in Aspen, Colorado, leading HR and Administration and hiring nearly 80 new employees in just over one year. Her latest role was with a design-build firm specializing in Controlled Environment Agriculture. Amanda understands that working in high growth industries like cannabis requires agility, strategic problem-solving, and grit.

Amanda enjoys collaborating with colleagues to define company ethos such as mission, vision, values, while creating meaningful, tactical employee tools such as handbooks, culture guides, and feedback channels. She enjoys engaging with staff and has designed and facilitated workshops on growth vs. fixed mindset, change management, respectful workplace and anti-harassment, and how to give and receive feedback.
